WHERE TO HIGHLIGHT AND CONTOUR

Hi ladies, on my Bronze Away
post I got so many comments
about not knowing how to contour.
I decided to blog about it
in order to help those
who need to know how
to contour with bronzer
and highlight with concealer or
highlight powder.
Here is the link
in case you have not read it.

The purpose of contouring and highlighting
 your face is to
help define the shape of your face.
If you do not feel comfortable using a bronzer try
a matte shade blush it will work the same.

Location to apply the bronzer
Temple to shape it as an oval shape.
Nose to slip and make it narrow
not to narrow that it looks obvious.
Cheekbones to help lift or add.
Jawline to define and disguise any chin flaws.

Location to apply Highlight
Forehead center of it.
Eyelid to brighten.
Eyebrow to add an arch.
Nose center to add dimension.
Cheekbones top of it like a C shape bringing it up to temple.

Below are perfect example images to give you a better idea.
See the transformation in the face when they highlight and contour.
I hope this help and gives you the incentive to want to try it out.

  13. This is such a useful post, Jackie. You know I absolutely love my bronzers and contouring is one of my favourite parts of my make up routine - but sometimes I do go a bit overboard and end up looking like a bit of a tangerine. I didn't realise there were so many different ways to contour - this has shown me. Lovely post and research, keep up the good work. Rosemary x

  25. Great post! And that one transformation really is amazing..mind blowing. I generally only highlight my upper cheeks and eyes. Seems these tutorials are always geared to people with rounder, fuller faces. My face is long and angular similar to SJP. Haha I dot think there is a high lighting trick to make one's chin look less long. The only thing that would help that would to be born with a different shaped scull.

  56. This post is filled with lots of useful information.
I loved everything about this post, however when I used to contour with bronzer it just did not work for me. Once again every one is different. I stopped contouring and got a proper contouring kit and I used the bronzer (just to make my skin more bronze where needed). This really helped my skin and I saw a massive change.
I love how you have the charts showing you everything so clearly :)
    Good work hun

  58. I just noticed that I really haven't use all the steps together. I either just apply blush, blush and highlight, blush and bronzer, or bronzer alone. Hardly all three together. (I should, otherwise it would take me a long long time to get through some products, lol.) Thanks for the inspiration and cheat sheets. (:
