JACKIE'S COUNTRY FRIED STEAK


You may ask what is Country Fried Steak? is
Is a breaded cube steak with creamy gravy.
 A Southern Class Dish that is reasonable
and not to hard to make, but everyone 
who had try making this dish has their own
twist on it either with the sauce or 
an extra ingredients to make it their own.

Disclaimer:
This is a well known recipe that been around
for plenty of years and I decided to modified
and make my own.

I have to be honest this is not for the
calories watcher is a meal that is comforting
in these cold weather days to enjoy.
Is traditionally serve with a side of mash potatoes.
In this case you will be the judge in how to 
serve it to your family and guest.

JACKIE'S COUNTRY FRIED STEAK

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 pounds Cubed Beef Steak (tenderized)
2 eggs beaten
1/4 Cup of Buttermilk
3 Cups of Flour
1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
Salt and Pepper to taste
1/2 cup of Vegetable Oil

GRAVY
2 Tablespoon of Butter
1 Small Onion Slice
2 Tablespoon Flour
2 Cups Beef Broth
1/4 Cup of Whole Milk
1 Teaspoon Paprika
 1 Teaspoon Salt and Pepper 

TOOLS YOU NEED
2 GLASS BOWL
LARGE SKILLET
MEASURING CUP AND SPOON

DIRECTIONS

In a glass bowl beat the eggs adding the 1/4 cup of buttermilk,
1 teaspoon paprika
In a separate bowl add the 3 cups of flour
Season cubed beef steak salt and pepper and 
1 teaspoon garlic powder
In a skillet add the 1/2 cup of vegetable oil heated on high heat.
Dip the seasoned cubed beef steak to the egg, milk mixture
and than to the flour make sure the flour is well incorporated covering the meat 
Then place in the high heated skillet cook 5 minutes per side.
Set aside to drain and continue
 until all your cubed beef steak are cook.

Drain the oil from skillet leaving 3 tablespoons of the dripping brown goodies left behind.
 Lower the heat to medium add 2 tablespoon of butter and the slice onions
sauteed until translucent set aside.

Add the 2 tablespoons of flour whisk until is brown
add slowly the 2 cups of beef broth stir until creamy consistency
add the 1/4 cup of whole milk, 1 teaspoon of each
salt, pepper and paprika bring to a boil
and reduce heat return the cook cubed steak and onions to the pan
and simmer for 30 minutes
Serve

 ADD TO THE FLOUR
MAKING SURE IS COMPLETELY COVER


COOK FOR 5 MINUTES PER SIDE

REMOVE STEAK
COOK SAUTEED ONIONS
REMOVE ONION
AND MAKE
GRAVY
ADDING 2 TABLESPOON
OF FLOUR TO PAN

WHISK UNTIL FLOUR IS BROWN

ADD THE 2 CUPS OF BEEF BROTH
STIR UNTIL CREAMY CONSISTENCY

STIR IN MILK AND THE SEASONING
PLACE BACK INTO PAN THE COOK CUBED STEAK
AND ONION SIMMER FOR 30 MINUTES AND SERVE.

FINAL RESULT

 ENJOY

ALWAYS BEAUTIFY YOUR PLATE!!!
